STARBURST

Also known as Diffraction spikes, lines radiating from sources of bright light.

TOP TIP As I have said already, stopping down the lens (selecting a small physical aperture e.g. F16) is the secret to a starburst effect. No need for filter.

An example of the "starburst" effect, produced with a small aperture causing bright highlights to show with a starburst effect. Please also note the car light trails produced with a long exposure (motion-blur) and the moon that was blended in from another photograph using my EB method .
