PHOTOGRAPHY EXPOSED

PRIME

A prime lens is a fixed focal length photographic lens (as opposed to a zoom lens), typically with a fastish maximum aperture. I used fairly cheap prime lenses at the start of my photography.

TOP TIP I eventually liked the flexibility of zoom lenses and bought (upgraded to) fairly fast zoom lenses once I could afford them. Any money photography brought me was ploughed back into the hobby and paid for the best equipment my budget could afford. I was guilty of not making better use of my prime lense with the 70-200MM being my favourite lens. It's easy to be tempted to buy the latest techology, better to get the best from the kit you already have access to.
