F.A.C.E

TOP TIP Use F.A.C.E. to improve your photography. Its as plain as the nose on your FACE, easily remembered, no excuses.

F. - Feel the need or desire to photograph a landscape or subject.
A. - Accentuate (amplify) the GOOD bits of the scene. Could be the lighting, the shadows, the texture etc.
C. - Composition, concentrate on composition, shoot some pics from on high / low, could altering your viewing angle improve the composition?
E. - Expose the sesnsor, take the shot.

Using the simple acronym of F.A.C.E., you will put more thought into your photographs, avoid "machine gun photography" and improve your success rate.

Rape seed and sky near Burnmouth

Taken with a smartphone, edited in paint.net using the gradient filter to darken the sky, and the brightness control and saturation were used to enhance the colours and the overall scene. This shot reminds me of the Ukrainian flag, topical at the time of writing.
