CANVAS PRINTS

Nothing is as good as seeing your own work published or on display. I had some of my digital negatives turned into large canvas print approximately 75 x 60 or 80 x 60 CM, to mount on the walls. Its better than having blank walls and it proves you can make large prints too. I use my 13.5" laptop, wired via HDMI to a large monitor 27" across, so you can visualise just how big the canvas prints are.

As I have said, the monitor is 27" on the diagonal, so you can see how big the canvas prints are. WSIWIG, 'what you see is what you get' becomes important too. Basically, what you see on your monitor, you want reproduced in a print, Fortunately, Ive never had to muck about with a 'spider', tweak 'printer profiles', alter specific colours. Ive used Canon, Epson, A4, A3 printers and never had any colour problems. Maybe I was just lucky but I reckon if you are careful, use reasonable quality equipment, above all - be consistant, you won't experience too many problems.

Canvas prints hung in my summer-house. The top of the radiator is shown simply to give you an idea of scale. The radiator is about 4' or 125CM across. FASTSTONE has a nice feature called 'Resize / Resample' for increasing the resolution of a file. Make sure 'Preserve Aspect Ratio' is ticked. This feature is handy for boosting the file size, when needed.

Smaller canvases fill in the empty smaller wall areas.
